Project Description
Heritage conservation and restoration major works on this iconic and spectacularly prominent Grade A listed New Town building. Extensive surveying, scheduling and targeting of priority works; natural stone indent repairs; descaling; pointing; stone cleaning (by hand); leadwork; copperwork; slate overhaul; mastic asphalt roofing; feature gold leaf work; timber repairs; rainwater conductor works and external decoration.
Meticulous focus on the integrity and security of the building and its priceless archives. Mastic asphalt and lead roof hot works were managed without incident. Bespoke perimeter hoardings and security camera control mitigated risk of unauthorised access. Restriction of space and sensitive Ashwood management of rough sleeping adjacent to the live site.
