Project Description
Upon receiving the Contract Award, we conducted an initial survey to establish dimensions for the required stone including rybats, window cills, and lintels, generating precise cutting lists. Our thorough preplanning enabled prompt procurement of stone, arriving six weeks ahead of the original schedule rather than thirteen.
The roofing project included stripping, replacement of timber and sarking, and constructing slate roofs composed of reclaimed and new slate. Chimney repairs encompassed stonework replacement, with rendering where needed. Temporary covers safeguarded the roof between stages to prevent water ingress.
We restored timber sash and case windows, replacing cills and ironmongery, ensuring windows were operational, painted, and repointed with burnt sand mastic. Cast rainwater goods were refurbished or replaced, decorated, and water tested. Lead gutters and flashings were also renewed.
Throughout the project, with 16 flats occupied, we prioritised resident safety by carefully managing slate and stone quantities. Robust demarcation work areas and a scaffolding crash deck ensured public safety was maintained at all times.
