Project Description
As principal contractor, we helped CLIC Sargent create new accommodation for families of children receiving hospital treatment at the nearby Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.
The project included a comprehensive range of works such as the restoration of external fabric, demolition, and trench fill foundations. It involved the construction of a steel frame and the use of handmade facing bricks and natural stone for the walls. The roofs were covered with slate and single-ply membrane, and Velfac windows and screens were installed. The interior featured a steel and glass staircase, and the building was equipped with ventilation, lighting, power, data, TV and CCTV systems, access control, and fire and disabled alarms. Custom vanity units, kitchen fitments and appliances, and a gas-fired low-temperature hot water (LTHW) heating system were also part of the project. Additionally, altro wall linings, retaining walls, and both hard and soft landscaping elements were incorporated to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space.
