Project Description

St John’s Kirk is a Category A listed building of National Importance therefore it was essential that all repairs were carried out meticulously and to the highest standards of workmanship. The project work comprising of external fabric repairs to the spire roof around the belfry and to internal structural timber was carried out to address ongoing water ingress issues.

The initial 17 calendar week programme was extended to accommodate additional stonework specification to the belfry area through collaboration between Ashwood and the client, ensuring the best solution was found in a timely manner. This encompassed large units of stone being sourced from the quarry and dressed by our Masonry Team. Due to the weight of the stone, alterations were necessary to the scaffolding with lifting beams being introduced.

Upon successful completion of the project, John Kinloch, Property Convenor at St John’s Kirk provided the following feedback: “David Kerr, the site manager was first class. He was friendly and kept us informed throughout.”
