He leads and drives the strategy and policy development of Ashwood Scotland, securing repeat business from our existing valued Customers and securing new relationships and works opportunities through an expanded Client base.

A quantity surveyor by qualification, commercial manager of long experience and leader by example, David has the business understanding, technical, interpersonal and organisational skills to ensure highest quality service through senior level interaction with Customers and Consultant Teams.

Graeme has overall responsibility for Ashwood construction operations. He provides strategic leadership and director level support on all project aspects – Customer satisfaction, communication, quality, programme, health & safety, environment, sustainability and community benefits delivery.
An industry leader. One of Scotland’s foremost natural stone and heritage works authorities. Graeme provides Ashwood vast experience and professionalism in both modern construction and listed buildings projects of local, national and international importance.
Over thirty years in senior management successfully delivering high profile construction projects now spearheading proactive approaches across all Ashwood operating sectors.
Expert technical knowledge – initially in general contracting, then specialising in conservation and restoration, and now combining the best of both worlds, Graeme’s qualifications, extensive experience, precision planning and meticulous audit skills ensure Ashwood contract performance and delivery of unique, innovative and value engineered project solutions for our Customers.
The Management
Responsible for materials purchasing and plant/equipment hire; supply chain identification, liaison and appointment; document control and Ashwood common data platform procurement. Progressive, organised and meticulous. Victoria’s structuring of Ashwood’s electronic requisitioning, purchasing and delivery systems ensures Ashwood sites are provided with exactly what is needed, when it is needed.
Exceptional communicator and organiser of detailed project requirements from site welfare facilities for commencement to Health & Safety File inclusions for handover. Drives our Managers for timeous and accurate requisition to meet programme. Extensive experience and specialist knowledge being applied for Ashwood and Customer mutual benefit.
Responsible for management of the Ashwood commercial department, accurate cost reports and budgets, ensuring successful commercial delivery from procurement to final account agreement. A proven track record of successful commercial management on a wide variety of construction, net-zero and heritage projects.
Building Surveying background, excellent technical skill and contract procurement route knowledge provide for a best fit commercial solution every time. First rate analytical approach and written and verbal presentation ability. Valued collaborator on investigation, survey, identification of issues and problem solving. Meets timescales and drives others to do likewise. Encouraging and supportive.
Responsible for management of the Ashwood estimating department and all tasks essential to the tendering process from comprehensive Go/No-Go evaluation and reporting for incoming enquiries to strategic decision-making on all Ashwood tender returns to optimise competitiveness.
Ashwood Estimating Manager for over a quarter of a century. Accurate, structured and focused. Precision time and deadline control. A strong identifier of risks and opportunities. Comprehensive familiarity with mainstream contract procurement routes and grasp of construction technology, specification and HSE&Q compliance. Expert understanding of site constraints, planning and logistics.
Responsible for overseeing day-to-day office operations and efficiency, supervising office staff, providing guidance, support, and direction. Manages invoicing, timely payment, accurate ledger maintenance and bank transactions to maintain robust Ashwood financial health. Processes payment of wages, salaries, and pension contributions.
Long serving, hugely competent, qualified and experienced HR Manager, a sensitive guide for Ashwood’s apprentice programme and our younger staff particularly. Meticulous personnel files and company record keeper. Active participant in our community benefits delivery. Has a broad knowledge of employment and data protection law.
